About this statement
This statement describes the current accessibility of Blagger and how to report an accessibility problem.
Blagger is an early-release personal activity and time-tracking application operated by Samantha Kerr.
Accessibility approach
Blagger aims to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, browser zoom or other assistive technology.
The application is designed to:
- use semantic HTML where practical;
- provide labelled form controls;
- support keyboard interaction;
- retain visible keyboard focus;
- avoid relying solely on colour to communicate meaning;
- remain usable at common mobile and desktop widths;
- allow text to be enlarged using browser controls;
- provide understandable page titles, headings, links and actions.
Accessibility is considered as the application develops, but Blagger has not yet undergone a formal accessibility audit.
Known limitations
As an early-release application, Blagger may have accessibility limitations, including:
- some pages or controls may not yet provide ideal screen-reader announcements;
- keyboard focus may not always move to the most helpful place after an update or navigation;
- colour contrast has not yet been comprehensively audited;
- pages have not been fully tested at every combination of zoom level, viewport size and text spacing;
- status changes delivered through automatic page updates or WebSockets may not always be announced by assistive technology;
- diagrams, icons or compact controls may require clearer accessible descriptions;
- Markdown content entered into notes may produce structures that depend on how the author wrote the source text.
These limitations will be reviewed and improved as Blagger develops.
Using Blagger
You may find it helpful to use your browser's built-in features to:
- zoom the page;
- increase the default text size;
- change colours or contrast;
- navigate using the keyboard;
- use reader or accessibility modes where available.
Blagger is intended to work with current versions of commonly used browsers. Older browsers may not provide the same level of functionality or accessibility support.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you cannot use part of Blagger or need information in a different form, contact:
Please include, where practical:
- the page or feature you were using;
- what you were trying to do;
- what went wrong;
- the browser, device or assistive technology you were using;
- any adjustment or alternative that would help.
Do not include your password, session token or sensitive activity information.
Samantha will review the problem and try to provide a reasonable alternative or improvement.
Feedback
Feedback from users is particularly valuable during the private beta.
If something is difficult to read, understand, navigate or operate, please report it even if you are unsure whether it is formally an accessibility issue.
